Sarah Jian Lopez Waiver

also referred to as
Missouri Children with Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver

What Is It?

The Medicaid Waiver for Missouri Children with Developmental Disabilities (MoCDD) allows Medicaid eligibility to be extended to a limited number of children under the age of 18, who live at home and are not otherwise eligible for Medicaid. Eligibility for the waiver allows parental income and resources to be disregarded for permanently and totally disabled children living at home who otherwise would require services outside of the home.

Services for these children include, but are not limited to: day habilitation, attendant care in and out of the home, respite care, behavior therapy, transportation, and home modifications.

To participate in this program, the family must agree to provide health insurance for the child.

Funding is a match between the state and federal governments.

The Department of Mental Health, Division of MR/DD allocates to each district a limited number of allocations for family participation each year.
