What Is the ETC Program?
Missouri's Equipment Technology Consortium (ETC), is a short-term assistive technology equipment loan program for school districts and agencies in
Missouri. District or agency representatives can borrow equipment on behalf of individuals with disabilities to try out the equipment before purchasing,
for use during the time equipment is in repair, or for other short-term needs. Districts and agencies will be able to borrow the equipment for up to six weeks.

How Do I Borrow Equipment?
First, your district or agency representative will contact one of the distribution sites listed. Before a district or agency can borrow a piece of equipment,
they must complete an agreement form which needs to be signed by an authorized district or agency representative. The agreement form must be sent tot he University
of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and be approved prior to borrowing equipment.
Once your agreement form has been approved, you can proceed with your equipment request. Any of the distribution sites can process an equipment request for up to
three items. There is no limit to the number of loans. If an item is already on loan, you will be placed on a waiting list and the equipment will be shipped as soon
as it becomes available.
Items will be shipped via Federal Express to the district or agency's Federal Express address. The ETC Program pays all shipping costs. The loan package will
include the equipment with instruction manual, return packing slip, and a letter explaining what equipment you have borrowed and the due date. In some cases, if you are
located close to one of the distribution sites (except St. Louis), you may be able to pick up and return equipment rather than having it shipped.

What Technical Assistance Will Be Provided?
If you need in depth technical assistance, beyond that provided in the instruction manual, you can access additional information through links to the equipment manufacturers
and vendors on the web site. At this time, the ETC program distribution sites are not designed to provide in-depth technical assistance or on-site training services. If a
distribution site is able and willing to provide technical assistance, the borrowing district or agency can arrange for such services independent of the ETC Program.
