Developmental Disabilities Resource Center

What Is It?

The Missouri Developmental Disabilities Resource Center mission is to provide information on developmental disabilities and low incidence disabilities and referral to families, individuals with disabilities, community agencies, state and local services and consultants.

Information:  On where to find services in Missouri, current research and ideas on how to address specific individual or family needs. Information also includes computer literature searches, copies of printed material, resource packets on specific disabilities and topics of interest, books, videotapes and audio tapes available on loan.

Referral Assistance:  In finding professional consultants, specialists and families who will share information, experiences and suggest strategies.

Internet web site:  www.moddrc.com Web site systematically provides information on any disability topic requested. Allows parents to enter several topic-specific conference areas in which they may discuss specific questions with other parents and share ideas. An electronic bulletin board is also provided to serve parents and others by providing a place for people to leave messages 24 hours a day.

The Center services are available at no cost to any individual, family or organization in Missouri. The Center is located at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Institute for Human Development. Funding is provided by the Missouri Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities.
